Variance Request: Applicant is requesting a variance for an extension on the length of time, code allows for 6 months applicant is requesting 12 months to commence work. Zoning Resolution Section 200.09.(C) – The reviewing zoning authority (i.e. Zoning Inspector or Board of Zoning Appeals) and the applicant may agree to an extension of time based on reasonable circumstances that precluded the applicant from beginning or substantially completing construction. The circumstances and facts must be submitted to the reviewing zoning authority in writing, along with a schedule for completion of work. Unless otherwise specified in this Resolution, the reviewing zoning authority may grant an extension of time for up to six (6) months before the applicant would need to submit a new application for review. If an extension is granted, the reviewing zoning authority shall notify the affected person(s) in writing of such extension and the time frame for completion of work.
