BURNING
We are often questioned about what type of burning is allowed and what is not. For most residences in Brimfield, burning leaves and other landscaping items are NOT permitted.
The rules for open burning are imposed by the state of Ohio EPA, not Brimfield Township.
Barbeques, campfires and cookouts are permitted, must be no larger than 2 feet high and 3 feet wide with only the burning of clean, seasoned firewood or the equivalent.
All other burning, such as leaves, tree trimmings, brush, stumps and grass is ONLY allowed where the fire will be more than 1,000 feet from a neighbor’s inhabited structure, thus eliminating most residential neighborhoods in Brimfield.
