Brimfield Township, is seeking to hire a current student or recent graduate of a baccalaureate program in the field of Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Digital Science or related field. Current student candidates should have completed their junior year of instruction. Candidates who do not meet this requirement can show prior relevant work experience to qualify. This position will directly assist the township Technology Coordinator with desktop and user support, network maintenance, installation of hardware such as PC and security devices, support of office copiers and voice over IP phones. This position also focuses heavily on maintaining highly accurate records and documentation.
Successful candidates need to possess demonstrable skills in the following areas:
- Intermediate networking to include proficiency with VLANS and switching
- Troubleshooting logic and skills for both PC computing as well as networking
- Client interaction skills
- Strong familiarity and troubleshooting skills with common PC applications such as browsers and office productivity suites such as Microsoft Office
Additional skills that are preferred include:
- Server administration
- Web coding experience
- Wireless networking background
- Experience with hosted email services such as Gmail and Microsoft O365
- Voice over IP telephony
All candidates will be asked to provide a resume and complete an application form. Top candidates will be asked for three professional references, and an in-person interview that will require candidates to demonstrate their skills. Pay for this position will not exceed $15 per hour and will be limited to no more than 24 hours of work per week. The position will run throughout the summer. A highly successful candidate may have the opportunity to continue employment into the fall semester and beyond with flexible scheduling to accommodate class schedules.
